Besides BRT and Keene Lions Club, she has performed with: Raylynmor Opera, Actors Circle Theater, and Jeff Stout Concepts. This past year, she had the pleasure of singing and dancing down the aisle in UCC's Godspell, and of falling into a casket as Mrs. Sowerberry in Oliver!. Jennifer Bond has been acting for as long as she can remember. As a child her mother affectionately nicknamed her Sarah Heartburn. As such, she decided to channel her drama queen tendencies and minor in Theatre Arts at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge. Locally you may remember Jennifer from such Branch River Theatre shows, including My Three Angels (Marie Louise), Selections From Working (Sharon Atkins, the nearly suicidal receptionist), Bus Stop (Cherie), On Broadway (Marian the Librarian in The Music Man and Sandy in Grease). Jennifer was most recently seen in the Jeff Stout Concepts production of The Honeymooners as Trixie Norton. But she is perhaps most famously (and definitely least clothed) remembered for her role in the Jeff Stout Concepts production of Noises Off as Brook/Vicki. She also very much enjoyed playing the role of Mary Tart in the AIDS Services benefit, Just Desserts X and Just Desserts X Encore! When not on the stage, she enjoys playing the role of “mommy” to her two beautiful, amazing, brilliant daughters, Abigail and Lily, and is employed by the Monadnock Radio Group, where you may recognize her voice when she transforms into her alter-ego, known as J-Bo. Jennifer lives in Keene with her husband Matt (genius set designer and budding thespian) and daughters.

Mary Bush, is pleased to be part of the Merlin cast, working with the ever so talented and creative Jon O'Brien! Mary's acting resume has been filling up, since she first appeared on the stage in the summer of 2004 with Just Desserts 10. Most recently you may have seen her as Lil in BRT's production of The Octette Bridge Club. She also appeared as Ruby Rae in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with ACT; Kate, in When Shakespeare's Ladies Meet; and Melanie in Check, Please! Other credits include, At The Punchbowl, Just Desserts XI, Just Desserts Encore, stage managing Flaming Idiots produced by Jeff Stout Concepts at The Colonial in Keene and a choral role in The Music Man. Mary has been married for 13 years to her very patient and supportive husband Ron. They have 4 children. She can be found singing and spinning discs with Ron every weekend, for their DJ business Ron & Mary's Karaoke and DJ Services. She is a resident of Winchester, NH where she lives with her husband, their son Lucas. A big thanks goes to her family and friends for their continuous love and encouragement.

Emma Carmody has always enjoyed performing. For only being thirteen, her theatrical credits are impressive! Past shows include A Midsummer's Night Dream (1st Fairy), Alice in Wonderland (Singing Turtle), Annie (Annie), Oliver! (Fagin's gang member), A Christmas Carol (1st Ghost) and several junior high and C.A.K.E. productions. A student at Walpole Middle School, Emma loves spending time with friends, drawing and painting, watching movies, and riding the Harley with her dad. She is excited to be in this challenging new musical despite having to share the stage with her brother.

|
|
Trina Carmody thinks being over forty is great. The kids are older and more self-sufficient (sort of), her career is rewarding, and that allows for fun things like joining the local community theater circuit. Prior to returning to the illustrious stage, she directed several youth productions for schools and local groups. In the past few years, she has enjoyed being in productions of The Actor's Nightmare (Sarah), Crazy for You (Tess), A Midsummer's Night Dream (Hippolyta), and most recently as an ensemble member in Oliver! When she heard buzz about an original musical titled Merlin, she jumped at the chance to work with the talented production crew (she was cast in spite of a confirmed diagnosis of dancelexia). Thanks for the opportunity, guys!
|
|
|
William Carmody, before plotting his strategy to get to the White House, is trying to squeeze some theatrical experiences into his busy life. He is 15 and participates in soccer, track, and X-country skiing while attending Fall Mountain Regional High School. Will enjoys acting and has been in numerous local productions such as The Outsiders (Jock), Edgar Allen Poe (Zachary), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Oberon's henchman). Will tends to avoid singing and claims he was tricked into doing this production of Merlin, but he enjoys the company of peculiar people found only in show business. Due to his offbeat behavior, he fits in quite nicely.

Cindy Choate made her first appearance on local stages in director Eric Walther's On Broadway 3 years ago and hasn't stopped since. She has also appeared in the Keene Lions Club productions of Mame, The Music Man, and most recently selling roses in Oliver!. She was also a part of Just Desserts X and XI, Back to Broadway, At the Punchbowl, The Sherman and Jeff Comedy Revue, and Flaming Idiots. Playing the part of Nimue/Vincent II marks Cindy's first leading role. She's thrilled because when Jon O'Brien gets a call from Broadway, she can say she was an original cast member. Thanks go out to her supportive husband and her favorite drama queen and king, children Kelly and Bryan.

She was last seen in BRT's Spoon River Anthology and recently joined the BRT board of directors. Her recent performances have been in BRT's At the Punch Bowl and American Dreams: Lost and Found. She is a consultant for various theatre companies in New England and a member of the newly formed group of improvisation performers led by Henry Balzarini at “Acting Out” in Keene.

C.J. Cummings , after taking a “recharge-the-batteries” break from theatre for about a year, CJ is absolutely delighted to be back once again with BRT and Keene Lions Club, performing with the area's most talented actors, vocalists and production team! She is thrilled to be the evil, self-absorbed Morgan le Fey in this show!! “In past I've been cast as one sweetie pie after another, which is great, but I can't tell you how refreshing it is to be playing a character who is a bit, shall we say...witchy.” You may have seen CJ in some of these shows in the past, Ten Little Indians, The Mousetrap, Oklahoma!, Anything Goes, Gypsy, South Pacific, Mame, The Music Man, Noises Off! (twice!), On Broadway, The Honeymooners, The Unexpected Guest and Back to Broadway. She wishes to thank her husband and dearest friend, Tommy, for always being supportive, “even if the rehearsal schedules do end up giving us both sleeping disorders.”

Dean Eaton comes full circle in this production. One of earliest roles was 29 years ago in a Marlborough Playwrights Theatre production of Jon R. O'Brien's Poverello. He went on to act in a number of their shows, including leads in Blythe Spirit and The Haunting of Hill House. After a long hiatus, Dean jumped back in several years ago, performing with the Keene Lion's Club, Just Desserts and Branch River Theatre. He is thrilled to be working again with the brilliant Jon R. O'Brien. In the real world Dean owns and operates Your Kitchen Store in the Colony Mill Marketplace. He urges everyone to shop at a locally owned business in the first place. On Sunday he is the worship leader at the Stoddard Congregational Church. Dean is also an advocate and speaker for organ donation. Please contact him for more information.

Cynthia Elmour made her second performance with Branch River Theatre since appearing in On Broadway two seasons ago. In the interim, she joined the BRT Board of Directors, and appeared in Mame for the Keene Lions Club and Just Desserts X for Aids Services for the Monadnock Region. Cindy is very proud of her 7-year-old son, James, who has “the best smile” and who good-naturedly agreed to be in another production with his mom in Back to Broadway last season!

Gregory Flower has a great love for shows. He is a 15-year-old freshman at Keene High School, and he generally enjoys it there. His credits include the UCC's Godspell (We Beseech Thee), the Moving Company's Bugsy Malone Jr. (Fat Sam), and the Keene Lions Club's The Music Man (Tommy Djilas). He is pleased and honored to be playing Merlin, this fantastic creation of Jon Ripley O'Brien's. Greg is a baritone with tenor qualities, or in his words “a tenortone”. When not singing, acting or making up ridiculous names or fake lyrics, he enjoys swimming, volleyball, and basketball. He also enjoys music theory and has many songs in the process of composition (search his name www.finalemusic.com for a couple of his posted songs). He would like to thank Marty Hennum, Gary Gagnon, Jon O'Brien, Joanne Mead, Rev. Jay Terbush, Eric Walther, Paula Aarons, and Barb Andrews for all of their help and support over the last few years. Most of all he would like to thank Dad, Mom, Nana, Pop, Oma, Papa, and Sarah for all of their love and nurturing.

|
Jonathan Flower returns to the stage after a decade long hiatus, Jonathan has recently played Bill Sykes in the Lion's Club production of Oliver! and was a cast member in the UCC's production of Godspell. Prior to this prolonged break from theater, he played a variety of on-stage roles including Billy in Carousel, Motel in Fiddler on the Roof and Capt. Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. However, this is just a small sample of his repertoire. In the shower, he has starred in every show he has ever seen, regardless of his knowledge of the correct lyrics or melody. Some of his favorite shower productions have been West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar and Porgy & Bess. Recently, Jonathan has learned the meaning of the term, "What goes around, comes around." Now that he has two children of his own who have discovered the joys of shower singing, he realizes that shower performances do, in fact, have an audience - everyone else who lives in the house. Jonathan was fortunate to grow up in a house full of music. His parents instilled in him a love of show tunes by occasionally filling an evening by standing around the piano singing their favorite Broadway songs. Now music and theater are common joys that he shares with his wife and children.

Sarah Flower has always loved to sing dance and act, is an 11-year-old student who goes to Keene Middle School. She first started to act with the Sunday school at UCC. Then she got into the shows at school: Dear Abby (a show about the first ladies), and Puss in Boots (the story about the little cat killing the ogre). Sarah also was in a drama summer camp with her piano teacher, Mrs. Fleming and helped put on the shows Jonah and the Whale where she starred as an angel and Freedom Bound as Aunt Colette. The most recent shows she has been in are Godspell at UCC, and The Music Man and Oliver! with the Keene Lions Club. Sarah thanks her brother Gregory, and her Mom and Dad, without whom she would never have been involved in any Drama.
|
|
|
Tracy Flower in her younger days, Tracy performed in both community and school productions. She played the role of Sister Sophia in the 1990 Keene Lions Club show The Sound of Music (and got pregnant with Gregory) and the role of Pegeen in the 1994 Keene Lions Club show Mame (and got pregnant with Sarah). Since 1995, she has done makeup for all Keene Lions Club productions. She caught the acting bug again last year in the UCC production of Godspell, joining the cast only after her name mysteriously appeared on the cast list (no babies though!). Tracy is thrilled, (and quite frankly a little scared - two children are enough), to be joining her family and friends in Merlin.

Jodi Fortin's appearance in Merlin is the first since high school 5 years ago. She has been involved with choral singing and solos in numerous medleys and pieces since grade school. Always satisfied with choral singing she hadn't reached out to active or theatre. While attending The Branch River Theatre's performance Back to Broadway last year, she became inspired. The amazing production gave her strive and leap towards many performances to come. She would like to thank all who have been so encouraging and supportive through the years!

Ben Gagnon makes another appearance in a BRT show, his 6 th from behind the drumset. Ben made his singing debut on the Marlborough Community House stage last year in Just Desserts X. In this past year's Keene Teen Idol competition, Ben was invited to photograph the event. Ben also plays in a local band called "Soul Dragn" which just recently released its first studio album A Rebuttal to Battery. To learn more about the band you can visit www.souldragn.com. Ben, is newly married to fellow BRT alum and long-time school friend Kate Heffernan and would like to thank everyone in his life that has helped and supported him throughout his life.

|
Gary Gagnon is proud to be part of the premier production of Merlin! The collaboration between BRT and Keene Lions is also a premier production of exceptional importance and it is hoped that this will continue for years to come. As a member of the Board of Directors for BRT Gary admires the dedication of everyone involved with community theater, most especially, the audience for whom all is presented. New curtains, lights, sound equipment and especially the chairs were all proposed by BRT members but were only possible due to the generosity of the audience and players involved with BRT. Take the lessons of Merlin to heart and live life with the vigor that Jon O'Brien infused into his score and script. Finally, the audience is reminded that good fortune and crops are guaranteed to those who honor the ancient theater tradition of presenting the orchestra with Travelers Checks® and gift certificates.

Lori Goldring last appeared with BRT, in April 2005, as Kate in BRT's recent and highly successful, and hysterical, production of Love, Sex and the IRS. She also appeared in last June's Back to Broadway. Her stage debut was in ACT's The Wizard of Oz where she portrayed a tree and a variety of others inanimate objects. She is coming into her own, as opposed to when she played an alter ego in BRT's At the Punch Bowl. Finally, she is hoping that the Ginkgo Biloba will work considering she has more lines to memorize than her "Fine situation here!" in the Keene Lion's Club presentation of The Music Man where she blended in with the cast of MANY and with just recently Oliver! which was MANY MORE.

Over the years she has performed for numerous benefits, weddings, and in local rock groups. Three years ago she reemerged and became part of the cast for The Lions Club productions of Mame, The Music Man and in Just Desserts X for Aids Services for the Monadnock Region. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, working at Timken, kayaking, and singing everywhere. She lives in Swanzey with her husband Joey, son Joshua, and daughter Jennifer and their loving pets KC, Sneaker and Mittens.

Peter Granucci is a professional artist, known especially for his portraits and landscapes. He was in Branch River's version of Spoon River Anthology, was seriously bitten by the acting bug, and has been performing consistently ever since. Peter has performed with the Keene Lions Club in Oliver!, The Music Man, and Mame. Other performances include: Mario Cossa's rendition of Cabaret, Paula Aarons and Dancers Speaking Actions and Branch River Theater's Back to Broadway (he's still keepin' it classy, keepin' it sassy) and Just Desserts.

Genienne Hockensmith has been acting since college and has been performing with BRT on and off for more than ten years. Her first appearance with BRT was a Desdemona in the 1995 production of When Shakespeare's Ladies Meet. That same year she played Chelsea in BRT's production of On Golden Pond. After taking an extended back from the theater, Genienne reappeared on the stage in 2005's Back to Broadway, and as one of the Weathergirls in Just Desserts XI. Most recently she was seen `dropping dead' as Old Sally in the Keene Lion's Club production of Oliver. When she is not performing, Genienne enjoys horseback riding, hiking with her husband, Jeremy, and three-year-old son, Hunter, and watching way too much reality TV. Genienne would like to thank both Hunter and Jeremy for their support, patience and tolerance for take-out dinners during the long hours of rehearsal for this show.

Jim Kreyling, from Swanzey Center, has been absent from the theatre for many years. Recently he rediscovered the excitement of the stage as the knife grinder in the '06 Lions' Club production of Oliver! Years ago he played the Rabbi in Keene State's production of Fiddler on the Roof. Jim is glad to perform with his youngest children, Jordan and Mariah as one of several family groups in Merlin. He can sometimes be found singing baritone in the Keene Chorale. Many years ago, in the fading days of the Keene Community Theatre, Jim and his wife, Roxanne, were among the founding members of The Branch River Theatre. Lucas LaScala, since he was little, has liked to sing and dance. Starting at the ripe old age of 6, he studied tap dancing and violin for a couple of years. Lucas performed in a children's choir at KIMRA and then had the opportunity to sing as part of a children's choir with Judy Collins at the Colonial Theatre. Still new to theatre, but he loves it (Jim Carrey is my favorite actor)! He's performed in The Music Man and in Bugsy Malone. He has been studying drums and piano for several years now and loves music of all kinds. Oh, yes, he loves to play soccer too!

Kay Lucius for the past 25 years, theater has been a part of her life — in some way, shape, or form. After helping with sets and costumes, she finally decided to get on stage. Her debut performance in Harvey with the Surry Players lead to other performances there — The Odd Couple (female version) and It's All in the Family. Now her daughter, Robyn, performs there - last year in Play On and this past year co-directing Don't Dress for Dinner! Singing and dancing became the next venue when she became involved with the Keene Lions Clubs shows — Damn Yankees, Gypsy, Bye, Bye, Birdie, Hello, Dolly!, South Pacific, Oklahoma!, Mame, The Music Man and Oliver! She joined forces with BRT to perform in On Broadway, Back to Broadway and Just Desserts X & XI. This past fall she joined the cast of Godspell at the United Church of Christ in Keene and loved reliving her teen years! She `dearly loves' Jon O'Brien and is thrilled to be a part of Merlin. Kay enjoys spending time with family and friends, running Maple Avenue Nursery School, being a Lions Club member and performing. She is looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild in July! "Hi" and "love ya" to hubby Bob and daughters Kate and Robyn.

Jay Terbush has been interested in theater since performing with his sister and two other children in a play he wrote, directed and starred in called Three Rags and One Decent Person. Guess what part he played? After putting his acting career on hold for several decades, Dr. Jay got bitten by the “theater bug” when he was part of the joyful ensemble in the United Church of Christ production of Godspell in the fall of 2005. He also appeared in the recent Lion's Club production of Oliver! Through his involvement in local theater, he has developed some great friendships for which he is grateful to God. Dr. Jay enjoys being the Transitional Senior Pastor at the United Church of Christ and has spent the last two years feeling challenged and fulfilled in the ministry here. He counts it a privilege to be able to work with and love the folks of the church and community. By the way, those who have seen him sing, dance and act have strongly advised Jay not to quit his day job!
