“The Fantasticks”, the longest running play in theatre history with 17,162 performances, is the story of two young lovers and their feuding fathers. The fathers, Bellamy and Hucklebee, insist that their children stay away from each other … but their efforts to keep Luisa and Matt apart fail and they fall in love. But, when a circus rolls into town, the fathers who have resigned themselves to the fact that their children are in love, enlist the help of El Gallo to celebrate their children's union. But, the young lovers begin to question their feelings for one another, and their desire to see world beyond the confines of their small town lives. When El Gallo tricks Luisa into understanding what she really wants from live she returns home to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Matt.
